YES WE CAN! CHANGE... Has come?

OBAMA ran on his motto's "CHANGE" and "YES WE CAN!" The funny thing is... I have seen barely any change, if not things which are worse than before.
Things OBAMA ran on which he now is against:
1. stopping huge goverment spending- Record Deficit, Record Spending, Huge Sums Awarded to government departments
2. getting rid of congressional earmarks- 787 billion stimulus bill - 8,000 earmarks, 410 billion stimulus bill 8,500 earmarks.
3. allowing citizens to see any bill 48 hours before congress votes on it- 787 billion stimulus bill online for less than 24 hours for people to view it before congress voted on it
4. no lobbyists would be awarded positions in his white house - two already in the white house
5. not allowing fear mongering to scare people into action- saying if we dont pass this stimulus bill we will go into a depression we'll never get out of.
6. having washington become more bipartisan and reach across party lines- will listen to republicans however will not compromise
7. Make his government open and transparent (No More Secrecy)- Meetings behind closed doors.

So to all of you who voted for Obama, I hope you are happy with the CHANGE you received.

  1. In my talks this year, I have been outlining some of the world's great problems, highlighting some of the things that are being done by technology innovators to solve them, and urging my listeners to "work on stuff that matters."
We are in unprecedented times. And mtraut, I'm sorry to say that the current financial meltdown is not the worst of it. Political instability around the world, wars over access to resources, and yes, terrorists, are all in our future. Scientists who've studied global warming agree that we're heading towards decades of extreme environmental stress, leading to even more severe economic disruptions than we have seen to date. Meanwhile, we have an aging population with ballooning healthcare costs, an unfair economy in which some people receive outsized gains while others fall behind, an educational system that is not preparing children for the future, and deficits that require an increasing percentage of our tax dollars to service debt to other countries. Even if there is a short term recovery, huge problems loom in the years ahead, problems we can no longer pass off to our children and grandchildren.
Faced with these problems, we need a president who can harness the best and brightest our country has to offer, a president who is conversant with, and comfortable with, the power of technology to assist in solving these problems, a president who is good at listening, studying, and devising solutions based on the best insight available, rather than on narrow ideology. We need a president who can forge consensus, not just among the partisans in our own fractured democracy but around the world. We need a president who can inspire our citizens and our global partners to forgo narrow self interest and embrace the possibilities that we can achieve if we work together to build a better future.
I believe Barack Obama is that president. He is a man of intelligence, but also a man whose character and temperament seem suited to the problems of our age: unflappable, optimistic even in the face of adversity, willing to speak the truth about subjects that have long been taboo (I'm thinking of his speech on race, and his speech on fatherhood) and with unscripted reactions that show his fundamental decency (I'm thinking of his reaction to those who wanted to make a campaign issue of Sarah Palin's daughter's unplanned pregnancy.)

  2. Change has truly come, and it is the exact change that Obama promised! Average Americans around the nation fell into the trap of that is not what he meant by "raising taxes" or "redistributing the wealth", they stared into the glare of the teleprompter and thought they saw a shining star. This is who Obama promised us he would be, not the shining city on the hill, but the righter of all wrongs, the punisher of the achiever and the One who rewards the lazy. If you're looking for a hand out then your knight in shining Armor has arrived, if you're looking to achieve, be prepared to be beat down until you need that handout!

  3. Hello, I have played baseball for many a years now. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that the republican party is like a fish on land, its just not going anywhere. George W Bush is a dam mockery to our great nation. Dick Cheney is even worst, at least Obama's cabinet members aren't going to shoot anyone in the face. It is a known fact that the economy is in a downward spiral due to what George managed to accomplish while he was in office. He even started an unnecessary war, with the knowledge that the 9/11 attacks had nothing to do with Iraq and Saddam Hussein. Nobody expected the economy to instantly get better, but Obama has layed the grounds for success and recovery in the future. Obama has just been elected into office and deserves a fair shot at improving this country. George Bush had his chance in office for 8 years, and simply put, he took a giant crap on himself and on this country. This terrible crap will be felt for a long time and we will smell the stink for sometime before Mr Obama could flush it down the toilet. Historians have already dubbed George W Bush as the worst president ever. These are the simple facts.
